In my own journey (since 1982) of living as a missionary and being supported by others, I have learned much and developed some training along the way.
All of my training has come out of my own need to understand and know how to live this lifestyle. As I discovered new insights and helpful tips, I found ways to pass them on to my fellow Youth With A Mission (YWAM) missionaries. It started as a 90 minute monthly meeting at our YWAM center.
In 2008 I was asked to go and give training in Switzerland – it was then I was forced to put it all in a compact format of a three day workshop. I’ve been refining it ever since.
After writing a short article in the e-zine for YWAM I started getting email requests from far away places – dedicated YWAMers asking for help in how to raise financial support. That’s when I created an email Crash Course to send so people could follow a “do it yourself” course. It was somewhat cumbersome, but met the need at the time. The online course has now replaced that.
The inspiration to create an online course came in 2010 in the Egyptian desert. There I met a man, Phil Leage, who offered to host such a course on his own website, YWAMelearning – thus began the journey to learn how to do that, with the goal to complete it by July 1, 2015. It is now a completed reality and serving many. 🙂
You will find links on this website for both modes of learning how to build a team of ministry partners – the physical workshop and the online course.
My passion? Enabling God’s stars to shine! This comes from Paul’s description of his fellow believers in Philippi: “…so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life…” Philippians 2:15 & 16 NIV
The goal? To enable passionate lovers of God to freely spread His hope and life to all people, families, communities, nations and cultures.
